A few days after the declarations of the cousin of the mother of Bruce Willis at the Bild, Mrs. Marlene who has told her relative her worries about her son’s health and the fear that he will no longer be able to recognize her, the American star reappears in public. No red carpets, no soirees just a coffee with a couple of friends in the streets of Los Angeles photographed from Daily Mail whose exclusive images are now going around the world and, perhaps, reassuring the actor’s fans a little Die Hard And unbreakable.

Sadly – and his extended family has been clear on this – Willis’ health condition is serious. The actor has been suffering from frontotemporal dementia and the disease has been progressing since it was announced by his wife Emma Heming and his ex-wife Demi Moore in a joint statement last March. At first there was talk of aphasia, a syndrome that invalidates the use of speech and which forced Willis to withdraw from the scene, then the more accurate diagnosis. “Since we announced the diagnosis of aphasia in 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressively worsened and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia,” the family members said.

“Today there is no cure for the disease, a reality that we hope will change in the years to come,” the family wrote. “As Bruce’s condition progresses, we hope that media attention can be focused on this disease which requires much more awareness and research. Bruce has always believed in using his voice around the world to help others and raise awareness of important issues both publicly and privately. We know in our hearts that – if he could today – he would respond by bringing global attention to this disease and those coping with it and the impact on so many people and their families We are just one family with a loved one suffering from FTD and we encourage others to deal with it to seek riches information and support available through AFTD (@theaftd, theaftd.org)”

Willis had five daughters: by Demi Moore rumer (34), Scouts (31) and Tallulah (28), while from his second wife Emma: Mabel Ray (10) and Evelyn Penn (8). An extended family who also shared the period of the lockdown caused by Covid, and which is now giving the star of Die hard all the affection possible in one of the most difficult moments of his life. And just to protect the younger daughters, the actor’s will has recently been modified.

Star of action comedies, Willis made his debut in the early eighties in the television series moonlighting immediately much loved by the public. The role that made him a star, however, was John McClane in the film Crystal trap (1988), first chapter of the film series Die Hard which lasted 25 years and produced five films. After participating in pulp Fiction directed by Quentin Tarantino, where he was the boxer Butch Coolidge engaged to Maria de Medeiros and protagonist of the famous sequence of the clock, Willis made himself famous for other roles that have remained etched in the collective memory.
