ROME – The passion for sports cars has also infected the last of the 007s. Nothing could be easier, given the number of times (5 films to be exact) that Daniel Craig has been called upon to juggle dream supercars to chase or be chased by some of his antagonists. And since, as we know, his appetite comes with eating, the British actor has started filling his garage with marvels on four wheels. Like the strictly numbered 007 Aston Martin Vanquish Centenary Edition, which Craig carefully kept for some time before selling it for 334,000 pounds (about 377,000 euros) at a charity auction organized by Christie’s in New York. Equipped with a powerful 6-litre V12 in aluminum and carbon fiber capable of projecting it at the forbidden speed of 290 km/h (declared by the manufacturer), only 100 units of this Vaquish were produced to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the British brand in 2014 .

The other Aston Martin with which, even now, Craig enjoys leaving the imprint of the tires on the asphalt is red. It is a Vantage Roadster estimated at around 150,000 pounds (about 169,000 euros) with which the star celebrated his 45th birthday. And since Daniel Craig will turn 55 on 2 March, the car in question is dated 2013. Ten years, however, not enough to question its reliability and performance: 305 km/h and 0-to 100 in 4.2 seconds thanks to the 517 HP 6-litre V12 managed by an automatic Sportshift III AMT gearbox.

No charity auction even for the white Audi R8 convertible, priced at 120,000 pounds. Based on the Lamborghini Gallardo, at the beginning of its production (2006) the car was only available with a manual gearbox and a V8 engine. A few years later, the renowned Lamborghini V10 appeared under the bonnet combined with an automatic gearbox, capable of delivering track-level performance: top speed of 329 per hour and 0-100 in 3.6 seconds.

The last of the marvels, even if less performing than the others, is the car that the secret agent uses on a daily basis. Specifically, this is a luxurious petrol-powered Range Rover Sport, under whose bonnet vibrates a 4300 cc 530 HP engine powerful enough to push the king of SUVs not only to a maximum speed of 250 per hour, but to snap it from 0 to 100 in 4 .5 seconds. Important numbers for a car weighing 2500 kg.
