it was the actor himself who announced the new paternity during an interview with ET Canada, without adding further details, even if everything suggests that the mother is his current partner Tiffany Chen
He made the announcement himself, taking everyone by surprise. At the age of 79, Robert De Niro became a father for the seventh time. The occasion for the shocking revelation was a recent interview with ET Canada for the promotion of his latest film About my father. When reporter Brittnee Blair asked him about his life with six children, the actor quickly corrected her.
There are actually seven. I just had a baby, De Niro replied, without adding further details on the identity of the mother (but everything points to her current partner, tai chi champion Tiffany Chen, who was photographed in March with a baby bump as she left a restaurant with him) nor on the sex of the newcomer. Married and divorced twice, the Hollywood star has six other children (Drena, Raphael, twins Julian Henry and Aaron Kendrik, Elliot and Helen).
I think I’m affectionate with my children, although sometimes I have to be strict about certain things – continued De Niro, speaking of paternity -. I mean, there’s no avoiding it with the kids. I don’t like having to impose authority and stuff like that. But sometimes you have no choice. And any parent, I think, would say the same thing. You always want to do the right thing by the kids and give them the benefit of the doubt, but sometimes you just can’t. Once news of the birth of her seventh child went viral, the star’s entourage merely confirmed it.
