Amitabh Bachchan is an Indian film actor, producer, and television host. He has been a major influence in the Hindi film industry for more than five decades and is widely regarded as one of the greatest actors of all time.

Born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh on October 11th 1942, Amitabh Bachchan made his debut in 1969 with Saat Hindustani. His career saw him star in several successful films such as Sholay (1975), Deewar (1975), Zanjeer (1973) and Amar Akbar Anthony (1977).

In addition to being an acclaimed actor, Amitabh Bachchan is also a singer and stage performer who has released several albums over the years. He was awarded Padma Shri by Government of India for his contribution to arts in 2001 and Padma Bhushan by Government of India for his contribution to Arts & Entertainment in 2015. In 2000 he was honored with Dadasaheb Phalke Award which is considered highest honor given to any filmmaker or artiste working within Indian Cinema Industry.

Apart from acting, Amitabh Bachchan has also ventured into producing movies like “Bunty Aur Babli” (2005), and Paa (2009. He also hosted popular TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati which ran successfully for 9 seasons making it one of most watched shows on Television ever.

Amitabh bachchan’s life journey isn’t just limited to success but there have been some dark moments too where he faced bankruptcy due to bad investments. But despite these challenges he came back stronger than ever before, proving that nothing can stop you if you are determined enough! Amitabh Bachchan is an Indian actor, film producer, television host, occasional playback singer and former politician. He first gained popularity in the early 1970s as the “angry young man” of Hindi cinema, and has since appeared in over 190 Indian films in a career spanning almost five decades.

Bachchan is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential actors in the history of Indian cinema. So much so that French director Francois Truffaut called him a “one-man industry.”

Bachchan has won numerous awards in his career, including four National Film Awards as Best Actor and many other accolades. He has also won fifteen Filmfare Awards and is the most nominated performer in any major acting category at Filmfare, with 41 nominations overall. In addition to acting, Bachchan has worked as a playback singer, film producer and television presenter. He also had a stint in politics in the 1980s.

The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri in 1984, the Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015 for his contributions to the arts. The Government of France honoured him with its highest civilian award, the Legion of Honour, in 2007. Bachchan was also honoured with the African Movie Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2013. He has been nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role, both for his work in Gandhi.
