Bill Murray is an American actor, comedian and writer who has been entertaining audiences with his unique brand of humor for decades. Born in 1950 in Wilmette, Illinois, Murray began his career as a stand-up comic before breaking into television and film roles. He gained recognition for his role on Saturday Night Live and then went on to star in some of the most beloved comedies of all time including Ghostbusters (1984), Groundhog Day (1993) and Lost In Translation (2003).

Murray’s performances have earned him numerous awards over the years including a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in 2003 for Lost In Translation. He also received two Academy Award nominations; one for Best Actor in 1984’s The Razor’s Edge and another for Best Supporting Actor in 1996’s Rushmore. Additionally, he was inducted into the Screen Actors Guild Hall of Fame in 2009.
