Bruce Willis is a legendary actor, producer, and musician who has been entertaining audiences for over four decades. He is best known for his iconic role as John McClane in the Die Hard franchise and more recently as Lt. Vincent Della Santina on the hit show Red.
Willis was born on March 19th 1955 in Idar-Oberstein, Germany to an American serviceman father and German mother. His family moved back to America when he was two years old where they settled down in New Jersey. After graduating from high school Bruce attended Montclair State College where he studied drama before dropping out to pursue acting full time.
His career kicked off with small roles in television series such as Miami Vice and Moonlighting which led him into big budget films like Blind Date (1987), Die Hard (1988) and Pulp Fiction (1994). These movies quickly made him one of Hollywood’s most bankable stars with some of his other notable works including Armageddon (1998), The Sixth Sense (1999), Sin City (2005) Unbreakable (2000) , and Glass (2019). Throughout his career, Willis has received numerous awards including six People’s Choice Awards, two Primetime Emmy Award nominations and a Golden Globe nomination amongst others.
In addition to being an actor Bruce is also a talented singer-songwriter who released his debut album ‘The Return of Bruno’ in 1987 followed by ‘If It Don’t Kill You, It Just Makes You Stronger’ in 1989. He even had a number one single with “Respect Yourself” from this second album. In recent years Willis has returned to music releasing several albums including Classic Christmas Album (2006).
Outside of film and music Bruce is also actively involved in charity work. He supports various organizations such as Make A Wish Foundation, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Special Olympics.
