Christian Bale is an English actor who has achieved significant success in both film and television. He began his career as a child actor, playing roles in films such as Empire of the Sun (1987) and Newsies (1992). As an adult, he starred in blockbuster films like Batman Begins (2005), The Dark Knight Trilogy (2008-2012) and American Psycho (2000).
Bale was born on January 30th, 1974 in Haverfordwest, Wales to parents David Bale and Jenny James. His mother encouraged him to pursue acting at a young age. After appearing in several stage productions, Bale made his screen debut at the age of 13 with Steven Spielbergโs Empire of the Sun. For this role he won critical acclaim and was nominated for a British Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
