Kevin Spacey is an American actor, producer and singer who has been active in the entertainment industry since the 1980s. He is best known for his roles in movies such as The Usual Suspects (1995), Seven (1995) and American Beauty (1999). He won Academy Awards for Best Actor for his performances in both The Usual Suspects and American Beauty.
Spacey was born on July 26th, 1959, in South Orange, New Jersey. His father was a technical writer and his mother a secretary. After high school he attended Juilliard School of Drama to study acting before moving to New York City where he began appearing onstage at productions like “The Little Foxes”.
In 1986 Spacey made his film debut with the movie Heartburn which starred Meryl Streep and Jack Nicholson. From there he went on to appear in films such as Working Girl (1988), Glengarry Glen Ross (1992) and Outbreak (1995). In 1997 Spacey starred alongside Gene Hackman in L.A Confidential which earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor – one of five nominations throughout his career so far.
Spacey also had success on television when he appeared as Frank Underwood on House of Cards between 2013-2018; this role earned him two Golden Globe Award wins plus Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series twice during its run making it one of Netflix’s most successful series ever produced.
Currently Kevin Spacey is focusing more attention towards producing projects rather than starring himself; having executive produced films such as Now: In The Wings On A World Stage (2014) and Nine Lives (2016).

He continued to have major successes throughout the 2000’s appearing alongside Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men (1993), Pay It Forward (2000), K-PAX(2001), Superman Returns (2006), and Horrible Bosses 2 (2014). As well as directing Beyond The Sea (2004). More recently Kevin starred opposite Robin Wright Penn in Netflix’s political drama House Of Cards which ran from 2013-2018 earning him multiple awards including two Golden Globe Awards and five Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations over its six season run.
In 2018 after allegations were brought against him regarding sexual misconduct Kevin stepped away from public life taking time off to focus on himself however since then it appears that he may be ready to make a return with reports circulating that he will be making appearances soon.
