Scarlett Johansson is an American actress who has been captivating audiences since her first big break in the 1998 movie The Horse Whisperer. She has gone on to have a successful career, with roles in some of Hollywood’s biggest hits such as Lost In Translation, The Avengers and Ghost In The Shell.
Johansson was born in New York City on November 22nd 1984. Growing up she showed a keen interest in acting and began taking classes at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute when she was just nine years old. After appearing in several off-Broadway productions she made her film debut at age thirteen alongside Robert Redford in The Horse Whisperer.
