Steve Carell is an American actor, comedian, writer, and producer who has been one of the most successful figures in Hollywood for over two decades. Born on August 16th 1962 in Concord Massachusetts to a family of Italian descent, Steve began his career as a stand-up comic before making his big break into television with The Daily Show in 1996.

Since then he has gone on to star in some of the biggest films and TV shows of all time such as The Office (2005-2013), Foxcatcher (2014), The Big Short (2015) and Despicable Me (2010–present).

Carell’s unique brand of humor combined with his dramatic acting chops have made him one of the most sought after actors by both audiences and directors alike. He received critical acclaim for his roles in Little Miss Sunshine (2006), Dan In Real Life (2007) and Date Night (2010). His performance as Mark Baum in financial drama The Big Short earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

In addition to acting, Steve Carell is also an accomplished voice actor having voiced characters like Gru from Despicable Me franchise along with other animated films such as Over the Hedge (2006) Horton Hears A Who! (2008) and Megamind (2010). He was recently seen playing Dr John Nesbitt opposite Emma Stone’s Billie Jean Kingin Battle Of Sexes (2017).

It didn’t take long before Steve was noticed by television producers who cast him in various roles on shows like ‘The Daily Show’, ‘Saturday Night Live’, and ‘The Dana Carvey Show’ which led to him being offered a role on NBC’s hit show ‘The Office.’ On this show Carell played Michael Scott; an often goofy yet lovable boss who made audiences laugh week after week for seven seasons. This performance earned him multiple Emmy nominations as well as Golden Globe wins for Best Actor In A Comedy Series (2006) & Best Performance By An Actor In A Television Series – Musical Or Comedy (2007).

Since then Steve has appeared in numerous films including Dan in Real Life (2007), Date Night (2010), Crazy Stupid Love (2011), The Way Way Back (2013), Alexander And The Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day (2014) Foxcatcher (2014), and Battle Of the Sexes (2017). He also starred alongside Tina Fey & Amy Poehler in the hit movie Sisters (2015). Most recently Carell returned to his comedic roots when he voiced Gru from the animated film series Despicable Me 3 which grossed over $1 billion worldwide.

Outside of acting, Steve is also very active with charities such as Feeding America & Stand Up To Cancer which helps raise money for cancer research organizations around the world. He also serves on several boards including World Wide Orphans Foundation which provides support services to orphaned children globally.
